About Guardian Usability

What do Guardian Usability do?

Guardian Usability specialise exclusively in working with clients who require us to recruit medical clinicians and members of the General Public to assist with medical device and/or website usability testing studies. We are able to recruit a wide variety of medical and non-medical personnel for on-site or off-site usability testing studies.  In addition we can source participants for telephone-based or written persona projects.

Why do clients and candidates work with us?

Our clients work with us because we take the time to fully understand their needs.  We will communicate with you in a timely manner and we will support you to ensure your usability testing projects meet your deadlines.
As a candidate Guardian Usability will pay you promptly.  Our participants enjoy the work because they find it interesting and they like the fact that they are contributing towards new innovations.

Why do we do it?

Guardian Usability are passionate about the work we do. We care about the service we give to our candidates and clients. We will never promise something and not deliver – we believe in being honest with you about what we can do and we will try to exceed your expectations.

What is Usability?

Usability testing is used to determine whether a product is easy or difficult to use. Products can be as diverse as a medical device (medical device usability) , a website, a mobile phone or a mobile phone application – anything that a human interacts with. The feedback gained during a user-experience appointment enables companies to develop their products further whilst adhering to regulatory guidelines.  Guardian Usability specialise in usability recruitment for which we need a wide variety of medical grades to attend studies e.g. Nurses, SHOs, Registrars as well as members of the general public.

What happens during Usability Testing?

Guardian Usability will pay you for your time to review a medical product or website. You will be asked for your feedback about a product or website so that our clients can gain an understanding of the usability of the product or website.  These projects can be held anywhere in the U.K. For the medical product studies there is never any real-life patient care involved.  For example, you may be testing a product whilst interacting with an artificial wound.  Sometimes the studies are telephone-based or home-based or in the form of an anonymous written questionnaire.

Why use Guardian Usability?

Guardian Usability specialise exclusively in the recruitment of participants to assist with medical device and/or website usability testing studies. Guardian Usability and our staff are happy to sign confidentiality agreements to protect your company’s interests. We will deliver within your required timescales – even when the deadline is tight. We provide excellent candidate attendance rates with minimal disruption to a project due to cancelled or rescheduled appointments. We can supply Surgical Registrars, Surgical Senior House Officers, Nurses, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Auxiliaries, Medical Device Engineers and also members of the General Public. Additionally, we are able to source other grades of medical personnel and specific General Public user profiles as required.

What does Usability Testing involve?

Guardian Usability’s candidates can attend your company site or we can arrange conference room hire if preferred. We can also assist you with the moderation of the studies or project manage the study in its entirety for you.  The medical projects do not involve real-life patient care; your product would be used in conjunction with an artificial wound – we can assist you with sourcing these items should you require this service.  Alternatively, we can project manage completion of written questionnaires or telephone interviews with our participants.
